if you're freezing the thread, leaving up the homophobic comments, and deleting other comments instead of just responding i don't know why you expect me to not think that's what's going on. that has been how you guys have typically responded to any situation where bigoted comments get left up and ppl have to freak out about it for a half hour or hours to get it taken down. it would have taken you less time to say 'give me a minute to read the thread' than it did to keep freezing and deleting additional threads

multiple ppl have told you guys repeatedly that not saying anything gives the worst impression of what's going on, if you want engaging in good faith to be a two way street you have to actually engage

as i said, all comments prolonging frozen wank in the main post instead of taking it to appropriate venues if genuine discussion is wanted (such as the modpost) are deleted. that has always been wiffu policy. when the question was posed in the mod post is took less than 10 minutes for a mod to reply with an explanation. if that's long enough for you to characterize it as "not engaging" then i'm afraid you're going to continue to be disappointed with mod communication.

i really have no desire to be on antagonistic terms with anyone but having the conversation start with "how DARE you do xyz terrible thing i just assume you believe" is a lot more emotionally draining than "hey can you guys explain what went on in this thread?" it's really not asking much to keep that in mind.
