Hi nona, I'll discuss it with the other mods but my inclination is to say probably not. We already ask that it be restricted to the politics thread which is easily avoidable, and I'm really not sure why you think people come here who aren't affected by it, to be honest.

Nona, I honestly don't know what you're referring to. I didn't read that whole thread because a lot of it got deleted before I could see it. But in any case I don't see how you assuming you know what one particular nona does or doesn't experience has any bearing on the debate as to whether climate change as a topic should be banned.

jumping in, but not everyone might have access to community organization, or they might talk on wiffu because they want to talk to other gay ppl, or because they like the style of the comm. i thought it was shitty to doubt ppl and then say wanting to talk about a topic you personally don't want to see means its not true.

some ppl might just want to talk in the anon style because a lot of us have been here for a while, or anon can be easier than twitter or discord. and even then, there was just a hurricane that hit puerto rico a few years ago. its climate change and politics related, and you can't tell people to not talk about it and tell them they must go to other places because you don't want to see any talk of a topic period. it is effecting people now even if the world isn't ending tomorrow.

there have been 0 actual good conversations on wiffu about it. i mean, look at the thread where someone clarified that photos about the amazon fire were fake. it's an op, a string of deleted comments, and then one post with links.

some people still want to talk on wiffu. there were fine conversations in the other threads. and someone wanked on the amazon thread, but the comment with links wasn't deleted, which is why i don't think the topic should be banned. some people just want to talk about it and you can't always tell them to go somewhere else. let people talk here, report wank to mods, or use tools to block the conversation. i don't agree there's always been bad conversations, i think the troll has been very transparent and i don't think they should succeed in trolling out something relevant.

thank you, and honestly i hope it doesn't get banned because it seems to me someone trolls that topic with the intent to get it banned because they just don't want to see it. someone does that on hms-anon too. i don't think its fair when climate change is a political issue now. i think the policy of deleting or freezing when it gets out of hand is good.

and honestly the "there's better more productive places" sounds like someone just trying to shut it down here and not get why people would prefer to talk on wiffu in addition to other places. some people just want to talk on anon instead of namespace, or have a break from twitter shit. some of us like talking to other nonas and there's good opinions. i don't think it should be banned and give the troll what they want, and imo its also bad faith to tell nonas affects or who know people who are they should never talk about it on wiffu because there's other places. there's other places to talk about lgbt community issues and mental health, but we don't and shouldn't, kick people out for talking about that.

? i didn't say anywhere you were white or the troll, but there is a troll who starts shit about it on both wiffu and anon and they do so with the purpose of getting it shut down. and i don't want to give them what they want and i don't think other nonas should be barred from talking either. climate change is also inevitably going to come up with other political news.
